Clerks, American Pie, etc arent funny anymore...

And the rest of that type of movie...
I realized this one. The original Clerks was hilarious when I was like 14 but now that I am 20 and had sex with a few girls, its not very funny anymore (watched the second one tonight...)
I mean they make jokes about ass to mouth and shit. And I don't think anyone actually does that outside of porn movies... I never even had anal sex...
These sex comedys arent what they used to be.
Who agrees?

I, for one, don't.
Clerks II was such a great, funny movie.
You grew up, but you don't find that funny anymore, but you have to take the movie as just that. A movie.
Something to laugh about.

Were they ever funny?
Not really. You just grew up.

Idk. I mean it had its moments I suppose but I looked back at the original and it was great and I just didnt find this very funny.
I mean they just cursed all the time, and I doubt people actually curse like that. I work construction and no one curses like that just for the hell of it... so i doubt fast food guys do when they deal with people...
But anyways I just didnt like it. And i used to love that kind of movie..

American pie: Not funny, but entertaining to a 14 year old.
Clerks: A timeless classic. Who can deny the deathstar argument's hilarity? I agree that the second one was a little lame, but what do you expect? Mallrats probably falls into the American Pie category, as do most of the others, except perhaps dogma.

I've noticed the same thing with some comedies, but it has nothing to do with sex, more with the level of humor. As a kid I always loved Naked Gun, Ace Ventura, Hotshots and some other really silly comedies. When I watch them now they just aren't funny anymore. But when I'm in the mood, usually stoned, I can still laugh at movies like Dude Where's My Car, American Pie, Scary Movie, Harold and Kumar.

The majority of the movies listed are pretty bad, but nothing is worse than those teen horror films like Hostel and House of Wax.

i think tommy boy came out when i was 12 or 13 and i still laugh when i watch it.
there is some really horrible garbage being made these days though. all those "scary movie" writers are pretty horrible. i think date movie might have been the worst piece of shit of a comedy i've ever seen...all that american pie crap sucks too. all that stuff is just made to entertain pre-teens who go to the movies every friday night
however there are blocks of writers out there who are still very funny and every now and then they get a script into production. it's really all about the writers i guess. anchor man i liked, 40 year old virgin....i'm not sure who the writers are, but it seems like a mixture of ex-snl, ex-mr. show, and daily show/colbert report writers. i guess they're all connected together in a lot of ways.
then of course there are more subtle comedies...well, humorous movies anyways that i wouldn't necessarily classify as comedies.

I beg to differ. Watching Paris Hilton brutally murdered was fucking awesome.

I think you've lost a good sense of humor is all.
Clerks is a timeless classic.

"timeless"?
I don't know about that. Its pretty easy to date that movie from the clothes, the slang, the music. In 30 years, no one but our generation will even know it exists.
