anybody want to recommend me some good acoustic guitar songs to learn? preferably some good tunes that would be pleasant for listeners, as i usually just play my guitar with all of us in a circle smoking.

Any of the popular Sublime songs, Hotel Yorba by the White Stripes is pretty easy and fun. REM's It's the End of the World is pretty simple and most people will be surprised that they remember it and enjoy hearing it (especially sans Stipe's voice which can get annoying).

Good luck.

Anything John Denver.

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd is a good one, and easy to play. Just an open G arpeggio for the main part, and a open C D A minor G chord progression for the verse.

most leadbelly songs are pretty simple chord progressions, open chords for the most part. but they're not that good unless you sing along. same with neil young, and iron and wine who was already mentioned.

Sitting around the campfire, people seem to be impressed and enjoy

over the hills and far away - Led Zeppelin. Personally, I find it sounds so much better on an acoustic.

Wish you were here - pink floyd

Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton

House of the rising sun - Animals

Simple man - Lynyrd Skynyrd

Dust in the Wind - Kansas

Goodbye Blue Sky - Pink Floyd

Spiral architect - Black Sabbath.

Tons of CCR songs are great around the campfire circle. Eagles are good too.
