Well I put in a few wheat cakes ready to be "birthed". Its been about hmmm 6 days since I took em out of their jars.
Day 1 -> http://i18.tinypic.com/2q0856v.jpg
Day 6 -> http://i16.tinypic.com/47vqmtw.jpg
Question. I know the pic is kinda bright,(flash) but what are those white bumps (look more to the left , you can see em better)
Is that Primorida/Hyphal knots? Im curious.

Oh and here is a pic of my Myco bag (grain based). Im pretty sure its done colonizing . I wish I had the materials and time to case, but unfortunatly I don't. So Ill try fruiting right in the bag. (I have 2, so maybe if anyone has any suggestions for a newbie I can risk it with my other myco bag)
Well Im not quite there YET,but I feel like its going very well thus far. I love you guys . I apreciate all the help so far.
Peace,

Miracle Grow? Well, I have some of the Blue MiracleGrow pebbles. I also have a compost pile (but Im guessing Id have to pasturize that?)
I also have a vast amount of perlite. (no verm thought
Would it be possible to Dunk and Roll my mycobag with anything besides Verm?

4-5 buck you can get a bag of Miracle Grow Moisture Control. basically it's peat that is ph balanced. thats what i use. fresh out of the bag you don't have to pastureize it. just hydrate and case. but the next time you use it if the bag is open it would be wise to pasturize.

Miracle Grow Moisture Control? Seriously? I'm not knocking it, I'm just extremely surprised it works as a casing layer. It consists of coco coir (a NUTRITIOUS substance), peat moss, a wetting agent, and Miracle Grow Plant Food. And casing with straight Miracle Grow? No way. Do any of you have any pictures of your grows?

learn how to take better pictures. Your flash is on and the entire picture is nothing but white???? Maybe you should try adjusting the light.. Sorry but I cant stand bad pictures. Whats the purpose if we cant see what you are trying to show us?

hard to tell, but if it's 6 days in, it should be knots.

I know the camera is set on flash and Im not sure how to turn it off . If you look the far left of the cake you can see some of the "knots" just fine.
And do these knots form into mushroom pins right?

Ok I covered the flash up with a piece of white garbage bag . (This is NOT the actual colour of the cakes ) But visually you can see what im talking about.

(Dont mind the orange streaks, thats just from me covering up the flash bulb.)

it looks like you have your cake sitting directly in the perlite? If so that should be fixed immediatly. Take one of the tops from the jars and set it ontop of that. If you dont the bottom will be waterlogged and you wont get as many mushies.
