Need help Pinning (casing dehydrated?)
    #640632 - 05/22/02 02:41 PM (23 years, 1 month ago)

So here's the deal:
I cased rye grain with 50/50+.

After a week or so I was leaving town for a bit and I thought it would be better to fruit earlier than latter.

The casing was about 10% colonized when I began pinning.

My terarrium has a light and air pump on a timer.

When I got back the casing looked dry so I misted, there was no new growth and no pinning.

Now the mycellium is still present but it isnt as volumous. Its not as fuzzy as it usually is. Its been two weeks since I began pinning and still no pins.

Should I let the casing sit and keep misting?

Should I use the deep scratching technique to promote new growth?

Should I remove the top casing layer entirely and replace it with a new one?

Should I throw everything out and start fresh?
