Importance of bubble stone?

I understand fully what a bubble stone does, but I wonder if it is needed to add just a little humidity. If one were to use perlite, and make a bubble stone type humidity setup, minus the bubble stone, would the rather large bubbles created by air hose be enough to add any signifigant amount of humidity? I'm not talking about a 40% humidity boost, just something along the lines of 10-15%. Any useful information is eagerly awaited.

more bubbles = more humidification. try it without the stone first, if you're having problems keeping 100% humidity,t hen try the stone.

You could probably achieve the same result as a bubble stone by putting about 3 inches of pearlite in the bottom of the bottle, and running the air tube all the way to the bottom. If the pearlite is too light, and blows around alot, you might be able to weigh it down with some gravel on top of the pearlite.

Just a guess.

i havent tried a buble stone i just have a air hose in a glas of water the only thing i can say is it gets annoying at night when your trying to sleep

A nice bonus In any terrium so Switch it on for 12/ hours on and 12 hours off Add some h202 in the bottle with the airstone and youll be even more contam free
