Question for those who roll joints with filters.
#6404968 - 12/28/06 01:18 PM (17 years, 2 months ago) |
|
|
I'm right handed and roll all my joints with filters in them. I always hold the filter-end in my left hand. Every single other person I know that rolls with filters holds the filter-end in the hand they more commonly use, but I can't seem to shake the habit of holding the filter in my left...
How do you roll yours and are you right- or left-handed?

i roll my joints leaving the ends a little loose. I pack both ends down, twist up one, and roll up a roach and stick it in the other end. Then i get the paper end with the roach on it real wet and dry it out to glue the roach into place. Lot easier then trying to roll the joint with the filter in the end.
I can do this both left handed and right :P

Well this thread is a question for people who DO roll their joints with filters.

Damn man, that sounds like a pain...for me a filter is necessary, kind of a crutch I get, but it helps me get things rolled the way I want them.

I mean a piece of cardboard that I fold, then roll into a thin tube, and use as a mouthpiece at the mouth-end of the joint.

I've always known those to be called filters. In Amsterdam you can buy pieces of thicker stock paper cut to be rolled into filters.

i spent my whole life rolling joints without filters, didn't like em until i met people who just slobber all over the fucking joint making it impossible to smoke near the end. So my roach just serves a purpose of keeping the end open to make it smoke smoothly.

I roll the joint first with a mouthpeice on it, then make a crutch to put in. I always roll my mouthpeices of joints the same way, and it works nicely.

Krishna, if you didnt know, thats because you're letting your "strong" hand (or at least one hand), take over more then the other. So basically you roll on a diagnol instead of vertical. An easy way to counteract that is to roll one end up a little bit, then do the other end, and so forth until you reach the point to lick and stick. This also keeps the ends a bit tighter and gives you a more uniform roll.
At the point where you're getting your herb packed together you should roll the edge of the paper down to the point where the weeds about to fall out and then slowly roll it up trying to get the edge of the paper to tuck nicely behind the back of the paper. If you can get it to go right in one try its just a few easy rolls upward with your hand.
I can always get the middle to go smoothly, but the ends always seem to never roll correctly.

i like rolling cones when i have a bunch of people chipping in. If im by myself i like rolling cig sized joints (or just a bit thinner). I think i prefer it more because i can smoke 1/2 a joint and have it burn perfectly, put it out, and when i light it again it smokes just as good.

Yeah when I am smoking a joint by myself I am good at rolling cylindrical, really thin lil pinners. I fucking love a good pinner, nice and tight, four good pulls and then you've hit the filter and you're a block away from work and stoned to the gourd.

i only like pinners if you use 1/4 inch french cut papers. Otherwise its too much paper and it makes the joint to harsh for me. A buddy of mine loves just rolling pinners and smoking them. Everytime we get together and smoke ill be putting a joint out just in time for him to hand me the one he just rolled. Its nice to get baked like that, but my throat is always killing me later lol.

I almost never smoke joints.
But then my rolling technique sucks.
You'd think that in 10 years of smoking, I could roll a decent join. But its like calculus to me; I just dont understand it.

Madtown- easiest way to learn how to roll joints is to get a fuck ton of schwag and just roll joint after joint after joint.

Took me five years to learn. I was in Amsterdam this summer with a lot of pot and no smoking device. Funny what inconvenience will cause you to teach yourself.

I'm right-handed
I've tried filters (cardboard or thicker paper) but they always seem to fuck up the joint somehow. I've really just gotten decent at rolling them, and I don't particularly like rolling fat ones; cigarette size or smaller is fine with me so long as it burns slow and even.
If I roll one tonight, I'll try a filter and let you know.

roll inside out & upside down, then you can easily burn off the excess paper.
i had this flatmate once who was super health conscious, and would always refuse to smoke a spliff unless it was rolled like that

i have a few friends that can roll those artwork type of joints, you know like tulips and wheels, three pronged joints etc. One of them rolls this self lighting joint that's just bad ass to watch. Doesnt smoke any better then a normal joint, its more difficult to roll, but if you can pull it off you'll def get some oohs and ahhs from the granola crowd

The only way I'll roll is with a filter. And to answer your question, I'm right handed, and I put the filter in my right hand while rolling.
Also a tip for the actual filter (i use notecards since I have so many lying around), if youll fold one end back on itself a few times, then roll it into a circle, it will hold its form better, and actually 'filter' a little. a made a picture in paint to help you picture it
the top is what it looks like once its done, and the bottom is what it looks like unrolled with one end folded up a few times (also helps you size it up correctly)
