ive made my own syringe and stuff and was wondering if there is a way to figure out if its contaminated or not or do i just have to wait till i start loosing cakes, thanks in advance.

I dont think you could unless you had some really expensive equitment

Mix up two jars of your favorite substrate and innoculte them under sterile conditions as possible. If they BOTH contaminate the same color then it is probably your syringe.
