last summer i worked a gas station 11;45 to 7;45
way out in the country in northern michigan, really easy but god it sucked. never saw my friends, only thing to do on nights off was get wasted because that was the only way to get a friend to stay up with me... had a few good times but for the most part it sucked, thought this tweaker was going to rob me one night. only lasted 6 weeks on it.

graveyard shifts are for some people...and some people simply hate em
I think it takes a special breed to be disconected from the rest of the world like that

Sounds like the best option, really--nobody fucks with you, for the most part. Plus, now and again you get to meet freaky people that spice up your shift.

I have a buddy who is a tugboat dispatcher. He works in the middle of the night every day for a week and then has a whole week off.
It's not a very exciting job, but it pays just under 40k/yr.

not diggin' the graveyard shift, eh?
i used to freakin' love it! get off work at 6am, relax at the bar, or whatever and go to sleep. sort of kills the social life, but i found it easier to save cash that way.
im on morning shift now, waking up at 6am and i can not get used to it for the life of me...............

I just got off nights after 8 months. It wasn't so bad in the summer when I'd still get some sun, but after a few weeks of complete darkness it kinda got to me. I liked the work, just hated being so disconnected from the rest of the world and feeling like a vampire trying to get home before the sun came up.
