Monotub xplant (update: pics 12/23)

So I returned home a few days ago with a mono tub of cubes (WBS spawned 2 Black Kow cased with jiffy mix). I had just picked the first fruits of the second flush and there where quite a few pins still developing. Now, I can't have such things growing in this location so I decided what the hell Ill take my substrate out and transplant it outdoors. I found a location off a nature trail in a state park. Soil was damp, rich, and aerated (quite a few earthworms, hopefully they don't like to trip as much as I do). Dug a patch about 2 inches deep. MY monotub was constructed from a Styrofoam cooler so all I had to d to remove the substrate was to break apart the cooler. IT came out in one nice big chunk. Placed this in the hole patched the whole up with the dirt and added a layer of pine needles for an additional casing type layer.
Its been out there for 2 days and fruit bodies are still developing. I'm trying to check it daily and it should be another 2-3 days b4 i can harvest some mature mushrooms. I'm probably gonna let them go to maturity on the chance that the patch will be able to sustain itself. Temps are perfect right now 75 during the day and no lower than 65 at night. Humidity is like 50-60% outside.
Any1 have some advice about this? IE should i water it all, add dung, or anything along those lines.
Forgot my camera this morn but I'll bring it tomorrow and have some pics for yall

They grow very well outdoors in those temperatures. You can spread some extra manure around the substrate to expand the patch.
The patch below was in a public botanical gardens. I noticed they were using horse manure from the local police department mounted unit to fertilize with, so couldn't resist visiting the park later with a jar of spawn. RR

Roger you do the coolest shit ever.
And good luck on your grow acacia, ive thought about doing similar.
This brings further questions up... would it be practical to run around a cow pasture sprinkling a bit of spawn on cow patties? How about squirting a few spores from a syringe on them?

Put the spawn under the cow patties. The main part of the mycelium is in the compost/manure rich soil below the cow pie. The cow patty itself serves more of a role as casing layer. RR

Ok sounds good, so you think it would be effective? Ive hunted in fields and only found a few mushrooms in the whole field, out of thousands of piles of horse shit. If I showed up with 10 quarts and sprinkled a handful under a bunch of patties, in theory there should be a ton more mushrooms next time i go hunting right?

There's far more effective ways of doing outdoor grows than that. Do a few searches here and see what the other members including myself have written. RR

Trying to do any stage outdoors, except for fruiting, is pretty much a waste of time. There are exceptions, and it's doable, but a lot of work. If you do the spawn run indoors, or already have colonized substrate (as you mentioned) and transfer outside, things can easily go your way.
I've put dumped beds of monotub substrate outside in the past, covered with 1/2 inch verm, and placed under a big leafy plant. All that I did was water it once a day. Mother nature did the rest, it rocked. So much, that I may put serious effort into doing this again. I live in a climate where cubes don't prosper on their own, so sometimes they need a little "help".
Keep whatever you're doing out of direct sunlight (naturally)

Heres the patch:

A close up of some of the larger fruits atm. Looks like something may have been niblin on it :

Some newly forming pins:

Picture of the habitat:

Thought this was somewhat ironic:

Fruits from the same batch as monotub. They def look a litle different when grown indoors as opposed to outdoors:

These pics where taken on the 22nd. Actually got better fruits off this third flush xplant than my first two. Theres some random dude's foot in the picture for size reference. A close relative a big foot, "medium-foot" told me he wears size 11's
O and funny story. The fruits were chillin' inside that chickafila bag in the back of a car. So some1, with good intentions mind you, decided to clean out the rather disheveled car. Needless to say a crumbled up fast food bag made its way into the garbage. Not long after the mushies went on a field trip to the local waste management facility!
