just use a drill and place lid on a peace of wood like a 2x4
if you cant keep it from moveing tack it down with 2 small nails and use there holes for vents (poly fill tyvek ect) or fill with RTV

BTW who is that chick with the great ass? and was the nude pic of the ass you posted last week of the same chick ?

here is a good deal 36$ for 96 plasic lids
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000BYC4B/ref=ord_cart_shr/104-8582816-4295905?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A1SV1BYDTUK2Z5&v=glance
thay are what i use, some say you need the gaskets but i dont have them and i dont have a problem, the lids are a bit soft and lose when you open the cooker but i just give thema twist as i am unloading
and i would not just pull the weight off the cooker and rapidly drop presser becase i think you could mabe blow them lids off if you when to fast.

Yep!

you could learn how to sharpen a drill bit and grind it so that its not aggressive, it wont catch when it goes through and make it all burry (if you wanted).

Unibit works wonders and creates a chamfered hole in plastics which is quite beneficial. I always drill 1/8" pilot holes first, it just makes the job go easier. GL

I recently asked Bluehelix how he got his holes so perfect, without jaged edges.

he said he uses a spade bit. Found at places like harbor freight. Still havent tried it tho.

I just use a basic drill bit. Make sure it's sharp or new. Never had problems, makes a nice clean hole. Once and a while there may be a burr or two which just ease off with a pair of pliers. In fact I usually stack a dozen together and drill through all at once. Again makes a perfect hole.

The best holes I've found I've made with a drill bit for wood. The wide ones with the pointy tip.

I put the lid on the jar, and use a 1 pound weight (a little green dumbell) to punch a phillips head screw driver through the lid. I usually don't punch it all the way through.  SQUARE HOLES FTW!!!1!!1!

So I have about a 1 out of 5 odds on not f-in up the lid when i drill the holes. They need to be exact and just under a 1/2 inch. I cant have ovaled out holes. Any tips?

I take a box of 12 jars, flip the lids, put the bands back on, take a screw driver, slam it thru, flip the lid put the bands back on, and roto the burrs off, takes about 6-7 minutes, just be carefull to not cave your lids in

This is where the forstner drill bit comes in handy.
It makes nice clean holes with no burrs.

You can use a regular hand drill or a drill press.
I have access to a drill press so I will be using that.
I started out with my holes for the injection ports first.
These holes need to be 1/2 inch.

True!

I love the forstner bit.  That should be the "Defacto" standard for all who make holes in their lids.

I've been using nails and hammers for awhile, but just got a drill for christmas and trying to upgrade.

Many of my lids i tried to drill into ended up with jagged edges that make me feel uncomfortable for tyvek. I only managed to get 3 out of 12 lids the way i liked it.  Thats with drilling pilot holes.
