no, i think the ONLY way they could be more dangerous than REGULAR pods is if they were thebane-specific strains grown for oxycodone manufacturing. something that DOES occur in tazmania. and NOT a substance you want to consume in quantity. (or at all if you can help it) a cumulative poison. also poppy seeds are high in cadmium, another cumulative poison. think about THAT over a bagel.

Personally I think its full of shit - there is now way those are GM, - well I'm basing my opinion on New Zealand's anti GM rules, and Im pretty sure Oz is the same as us, it would be easy to find out.
As for them being a super nuts thebain strain - well they can have only used traditional breeding techniques, and I don't think they would have progressed to the point where they become toxic just from that. Those signs are correct - you can die from illegally using standard poppies. I think you'd be best to ask around people who've tried them, there must be a fuckload of them.

Ya, ask around to see if anyone's tried them. If it's all good I'd like some seeds, but not as long as the toxicity is in question.

Are ya bloody crazy xk3m_indica , Grab as many as can be grabed.
Shheesshhhh fuck thats alot of poppys, Dam ?. Geko would be doing the commando thing at night with someone riding shotgun(freind) and a heap of garbage bags and fill em up, If ya going to take the risk of just taking a few then its the same risk if ya took say 200. Just make it worth ya while thats all, And geko would love some of them seeds aswell if there still on offer to trade or something ??
Truley a wonderfull view, And hear's a link to Taz Alkaloids. http://www.tasalk.com.au Hear the company explains alot of what they do with the poppys from growing to munipulating the botany side of things.

try a small sample of pod tea just incase they are thebaine... if not, spread the seeds far and wide
i collected loads from a field here last summer, they turned out not to be thebaine which was nice

They're genetically modified to produce mostly Thebaine, (which can make you very sick)
Apparently there's only one field up there which contains normal morphine based poppies, but it's heavily secured.
