Carrying mushrooms via Airplane, the Verdict?

This isn't a post about tripping in-flight.
Can anyone inform on the best way to carry mushrooms across country via plane?
It would make sense to check them in a bag, but I don't how checked baggage is scanned, or if dogs might detect mushrooms?
Any experiences to share with this?
Not chocolates, but dried mushrooms.

Please use the search engine, this has been discussed quite a few times.

Oh I failed to mention my attempts to search turned up about 1,000 posts, mostly on people tripping in flight OR smuggling chocolates.
Would anyone mind enlightening this thread by posting a link to said informative posts, instead of being really clever and telling me to shove it up my ass? Which is really clever, no really.

Some ideas thrown about there. Naturally, a ton of "that's not a very good idea" posts, but it's an international flight there.
Mailing if possible would surely be a better idea.

I would never take drugs on an airplane, but if I did this is how I'd do it:
Grind them up, double-bag in ziplocs, and put them into an opaque shampoo bottle, then re-fill the bottle with shampoo. Put it in your with your other toiletries in your checked luggage.
It's probably better to not do this and procure mushrooms locally when you get home.

location?
what country are you in? where are you going?
best way IMO is to prepare them in some kind of food. the shampoo bottle is an awful idea considering the scrutiny they are giving liquid containers these days. another option is to securely tape it to the inside of your leg. there is less chance of it being found in food though. i can't even imagine how it would happen.

I did this a few weeks ago. I made them into chocolates and put the in a small box and taped the box with duct tape. then I simply check the luggage in...no problem =)

grind em up, mix em with a realllly tiny bit of honey and press them into little beads.
than take those beads and make them into a neclace (using fishing line or another non metal string) and wear them.

hehe, always thought it was a novel idea

Without touching on the subjective issue of it not being funny at all...
It's still a fact worth mentioning in a thread about mushrooms in the airport. Some people might not be aware.

Now that you mention it, just how big of an issue are dogs at the airport?
I was under the impression dogs would be walked around the luggage check mostly.....?
I don't fly much so...just curious.
Wouldn't bomb sniffing dogs be more prevalent at the airport?

I only fly a few times a year, but I haven't seen such a dog in years. Haven't flown international though.

I think hands down the best way would be to make into chocolates. Then put in a tin can like you might buy candy and shrink wrap it like its new.

Hmm... Bags of non-liquids in a bottle of shampoo...
Lights up on a x-ray screen like nothing else. VERY stupid idea.

By a bottle of cortislim empty out the capsules, grind up the shrooms and put in the capsules. It looks almost EXACTLY like the cortislim capsules!! Or you could not even bother with the emptying of the cortislim and get your own packer and empty capsules

Capsules, chocolates, and necklace are some of the good ideas.

Regardless of how you do it, put them in some form that is not identifiable to the normal person. Cops know shrooms come in chocolates, but if you make them look nice and tell them its homemade chocolate from your mom or something you can probably carry a few pounds anywhere in the world pretty easily. Package them right.
Shampoo bottle is a very bad idea, like someone said. Very easy to see on an xray.

Two words, Trail Mix. I had about a 1/4 of mushies left over from Bonnaroo last year, so i bought a big ass bag of trail mix, threw them in and put the bag in my carry on. I also had a small bong that i had gotten at 'roo that i hadnt used yet that was in the same carry on. I flew out of Atlanta, and the airport was relativly slow. They didnt say jack.
What i count my lucky stars for is i had forggotten i had a roll in my pocket in a cig pack cellophane. When i emptied my pockes at the gate, i didnt know it was there, and i never felt it, so i didnt take it out. Walked right through, not even a second look at me. And i glorified the hippie look, and smelled horrible from no shower in 4 days. I about shit my pants when i got home and realized what i got away with.

My buddy flew from cali, to tn with 2 grams of meth in his pocket. Him and his girlfreind hit lines on the plane, and he got his dick sucked. No trouble. I would either put in a bag of dried mixed mushrooms(should be at your grocrie store), mine even has dried morels.Or I would mail them
