Dunking ?
    #639283 - 05/21/02 02:47 PM (14 years, 6 months ago)

I have ten brf/vermiculite jars that are 100 % colonized and two are beginning to fruit. I plan to birth them this weekend. Is dunking recommended before the first flush ? The cakes don't appear to be dry. There is still considerable moisture condensation on the insides of the jars. Just wondering if dunking will improve my flush in this instance or should I wait until after the first flush, when the internal moisture might be running lower.

I would recomend you to dunk after the first and subsequent flushes.

you can dunk before 1st flush, esp. if colonization was slow or you suspect they might have dried out some

Can you explain this dunking? I have never heard of it.

Jason

it's submerging a cake underwater for 12-24 hours.
