You don't remember me (LedZepp), but I remember when you were introduced to the shroomery chat! You had posted a link to a lawyer's site, which contained many links to document concerning marijuana, and the laws that govern it. My question is, perhaps you or your friend knows the legality of internet messages (for example; this forum) being used in court, or as probable cause? I'm just curious, not in any legal problems, yet. I for one am very curious to see if the posts we make could later be used as evidence in a court of law, or as means of obtaining a search warrant. Thanks for any information you may have.

LedZepp! I do remember and yes it has been a VERY long time!
The topic that you've brought up is a good one. Within this forum (and I believe a few others) there is a strong interest in whats called "IP Logging".
IP logging is simply when a webiste (like the shroomery) records your IP address. Your IP address is automatically given to you by your ISP. SO...if LEO gets your IP address, then they can easily find you.
As to wether or not a message posted on the internet can be used against you....thats still a very grey area legally.
Prove that I am who I am  I mean, if you're DEA. You have my IP address, you come to my home...well fine. Maybe my long lost brother knows my username and password and they post info that could be used against me.
Maybe an Administrator on this board deleted my account, then recreated it using my name?? Its really a "touchy" area.
Regardless. You should always go by your own logic. Treat the internet as you would any street. Don't talk to strangers and don't brag about what you do.
If you do have post/pics posted. Ask the admins here (or on any board) to take them down and delete them (not just closed the thread).

Honestly, I've been here at the Shroomery since 98. Back then things were much different and I "felt things up" before registering.
But I have never heard of anyone getting into trouble here over something that they have posted. Now I have heard of people getting busted for growing. Now if thats contributed to posting here? Well, that I don't think we'll ever know.
