Yes, you can boil them.

When I first started, I didn't know how to boil the jars, as lame as that may sound. All you need to do is just keep the water on low after it has come to a boil, so the steam will always be present.

Actually, it's not the steam. The only reason to turn the stove down is to keep water from entering the jars as a result of the boiling water. "Cook" them for an hour, I would recommend an hour and fifteen minutes though, that extra 15 minutes assures me I've killed everything I can. You will probably want to let them cool overnight however. If you have an incubation terrerium (or a heated fruiting chamber) I recommend you place them in that, and allow them to adjust overnight (best time to do the jars is an hour or so before you sleep, so they're acclimated when you wake up). Hope this helps.

Once you have the pressure cooker, you are all set man!!!! Id just go out and spend the measly $35 on one. Boiling water is fine but, better to be safe than sorry.

I would recommend getting a pressure cooker. Eventually you may venture into grains, agar etc., and you will need a pressure cooker. So why put it off. But boiling jars will suffice for now. But if you do consider getting a pressure cooker, Road Kill has one for sale, ebay, and we also carry pressure cookers which can be found by clicking on the following link: Pressure Cookers

I hope this information helps my friend.

yeah, i will if this batch goes good. i've already spent almost $50 bucks on this and i don't even know if it's going to work. I got 12 jars that i'm going to be trying for my first run through. well, i might be getting a pressure cooker to use from a friend so, it might just work out. otherwise, i gotta wait till friday night to boil them so i can stay up and inject them after they done drying off. (cooling off). thanks for the posts guys, appreciate it.
