You can think about dreams, but; can you dream about thoughts? And if so, (or not) could you elaborate on your take on how it is done?

I'm not sure if I fully understand you, but I'll give it a go.
I often interpret my dreams as 'higher level' refractions of my thoughts. That is, the setting of the dream, the characters, the motifs, and most important, the strange, alien feelings that surface in my dreamscapes often seem to be continually-occurring phenomena in my psyche which I only have access to in this altered state. I believe that dream-emotions are more important than the emotions which surface during the course of one's daily activities, because they are a 'level up', a complexified form of irrational expression.
I've noticed recently that my dreams have become more and more alien, and simultaneously more and more mimicking of reality.
(I may be a mile wide with this whole post, but dreaming is one of my favor topics of discussion. )

My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Dreaming about thoughts...would that be the same thing as thinking while dreaming? Or do you mean dreaming about one thought, and in your dreams that thought continues to grow and evolve?

a thought is a thought and that is true, but there are many sublte aspects to thought, a time and a season for every thought if you will
there is not a point that is not completely whole when free from the confines of ignorance
in deeper dreaming states we find that it is the fleeting sensation of breaching and ceasing of thought that makes one dream defined from another dream
where one dream ends another middle begins and where a middle begins another dream ends
nothing has ever happened

Simply put, the dreams we have are a visual manifestation of our thoughts. Dreams are full of symbolism and objects and scenes that are important to us. Not only do we experience thoughts in dreams as visual manifestations, but as amplified emotional feelings as well. That is why we have dreams that cause us to experience an odd range of powerful emotions that are triggered by what area of our subconscious we are dreaming in.
