Hmmm...
http://mycotopia.net/teks.html
http://shroomery.org/faq

Also do some searches for 'casing' etc.

Of course there are 100+ diff casing methods. Everyone does it a little different. If you want easy just case with straight vermiculite. Sounds like your in more of a hurry then anything

Cbull you still haven't read the FAQ have you?

The answer to almost all your questions can be found in the Shroomery FAQ located ON THIS WEBSITE!

Here's a link to make it easy for you to find:

http://shroomery.org/faq/faq.php?list=categories&prog=1&lang=en

Please look around for your answer before asking someone else to type it all out for you.

50/50 of sheep poo and peat moss mix

http://shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=Pictures&Number=639315&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1&PHPSESSID=

it's easier to case with verm, because it has no nutients so it might be good your first time

Casing is a problem when no one seems to post answers when you need them, but it really depends what you want out of the whole thing, vermiculite will do it but wont last and keep on flushing. Straw seems to have it in my view no doubt! Prove me wrong by posting a kick ass casing and ill try it and tell you what i think

The reason nobody is posting the answers is because they've been posted 10,000 times already. Plus, they are explained perfectly all over this website and many others. You can find step by step instructions with pictures of every possible casing combination on this website. You people are just too lazy to look and would rather ask someone else to do the work for you. Mix some ingredients together, make them moist and then apply to your substrate. DONE. If you want to know whats best, then do 2 or 3 batches with different casing materials and find out for yourself. Everyone is going to have their own opinions about what casing is best.

I did not sterilize my pure vermiculite casing layer before I applied it and I got a nasty case of green mold. That was my first casing attempt. My second is yet to come, but I definately plan on sterilizing my casing layer and I am probably going to use coco coir.
