Well, you ought to use 1 ml per jar, means 1/4th of a ml per hole.
This would be the distance between 2 lines for 1 hole if my math does me right.

Four small lines equals 1Ml (CC) so the space between each small line is 1/4 Ml (CC)

I've been up all night so my math might be wrong but if he
really has four little marks between each large mark, wouldn't
that mean each mark would be a fifth of a cc?
I've never seen a syringe like that, but I guess it's possible.

WUL is technicly right. If there are indeed 4 small lines between each larger line, then each Ml is split into fifths. You want to count the number of spaces between each of the larger lines. Obviously four spaces would mean there are 3 lines, which is what I assume you have. (I hate to assume) I don't think I've used a syringe that had each Ml split into fifths.

I just looked at one of my syringes and sure enough there are
four little marks. I never noticed that. So they are fifths but it
doesn't matter much. After you shoot a few jars you'll get a
feel for using a cc per jar without watching the lines.
With the needle against the glass, by the time you can see a
drop running down, there are thousands of spores in there.
Usually the distance that it runs, will determine how big your
first patch of white will be.

That's why I hate to assume!! LOL Well I guess that shows me. In any case, WUL is right. You'll get the feel for it. 1Ml (CC) per jar and you'll be fine. (out of curiosity, I'll have to check my syringes when get home to see if they're split in quarters or fifths. Never really noticed.)

BTW, my syringes have 3 marks between the large marks.
