I just picked my first flush in my first grow and was wondering what I should do with the white material remaining and if it looks like I picked them correctly. Thx

Looks like you left the bottom of the stems from your mushrooms attached to the cakes - Simply twist them off, they are good to eat as well.
Next time when you harvest a mushroom - twist it as you pull at the mase of the stem - you will see it comes off very easily and there should be no mushroom material left on the cake then.
Nice Clean looking cakes!

Thats what I was thinking but the bottom, or top of the cake, was one large mass. So even though the material is fury and not 'mushroom like' its still good to eat?

yes you can eat the fuzzy too. the base just sometimes has a woody consistency and when drying is harder to powder. if you havent done so yet toss them in a ziplock with distilled water for 12-24 hrs in the fridge. thern put them back in ur chamber. you can also eat the mycelium... but i wouldnt if verm was used.. in that case try an extraction tek from the cake. gl

Are you referring to re-dunking the cakes after the first flush? If so, no I haven't. There's still a couple small mushrooms I'm waiting to see if they're new or aborts.

well when ever your ready, brf doesnt retain lotsa water, and youll need to replenish what the fairies drank up. you can try loping off that whole fungal mass on top then puting a verm layer on top of that then keep it moist not as good as a dunk but... in conjunction with a dunk i think youll see a better second flush. often on cakes if water is not replenished you will only get a shroom or 2, though bigger. hmm also i see fungal mass on the bottom try setting it on top of a verm layer too, somthing looks like it wants to grow there too. gl

Yea there were several mushrooms growing on the bottom. There wasn't any verm there for that cake, but 2 of the others have it. So if I just use the jar lid 'shrooms can grow there but if I use verm they wont? The other cakes just started pinning & growing and I haven't noticed any bottom growths yet.

It looks like you are using the misting humidification tek. You might want to switch to perlite humidification. A lot easier than misting frequently.
