Trimming cactus spines?
    #6384181 - 12/18/06 08:55 PM (14 years, 4 months ago)

I feel like I remember someone asking this before, but I couldn't find it in the search feature. I was wondering if it would hurt my Trichocereus macrogonus for me to trim its longer spines to make handling a little bit easier and safer? Whats the worst that could happen?

Row, row, row, you boat, gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.

thats ok to trim the spines for shipping/handling but it will look bad until they grow back...

If they annoy you, it's much quicker to burn them off and does the cactus no harm.
