Too high of humidity?
    #638258 - 05/20/02 05:16 PM (22 years, 8 months ago)

i am conserned about the humidity in my bucket. i have 2 plastic cups, with bubbler stones in them (1 in each) in the far corner, on the other side, i have a digital temp/humidity gauge. my humidity always reads "hi" which stands for high (of course ) which is over 99%. im worried is this to high!? if so, what can i do to fix it? i mist a decent amount, but ive also not misted for a bit , just to test it, no difference! should i pull 1 cup out, smaller cups? cups that arent plastic? (heh) if someone could help me out on how to tweak it up a bit, i would be most greatful! ok thanks for your time
peace

Ummm....Cakes and casings require different humidities. So what do you have? If you have cakes then your humidity is perfect. If you have casings then remove your humidity source and just mist with a spray bottle a few times a day.

Also, digital hygrometers can get water builup in the sensor and "stick" on high setting so watch out for that...

Ya thats right. Just lightly mist your casings to keep them moist and spray the walls of your terrarium a few times a day. And fan before you do that. That should be perfect.
