"Pan Caster" collection from years ago:
From a lawn in southwest Florida.
It is a mildly psychoactive mushroom.
Any questions?

Spore prints are black.
Here is another collection photo from years ago:
1 out of about every 12 specimens found you can see a light blue bruising on the mycelium at the base of the stem.

I'm showing you what to look for right now
These pictures all contain the said shroom to be looking for. I found four of them on Friday growing in a lawn (sorry no pics).
The standard dosage of these lawn shrooms is about 12-20 freshly harvested shrooms equals one dose. Their potency degrades drastically once dried, so they are best consumed fresh.
They taste surprisingly good. Kind of like the taste of rain with an added zingy zip of psychoactivity Unique in taste actually.

The nickname "Pan Caster" is said because eating this shroom Casts a magical spell upon you. And because of their close resemblance to the psychoactive mushroom Panaeolus castaneifolius.
Their spores have been sent out to a few people (with microscopes) and they all claim they are not Panaeolus castaneifolius. So it is possibly an unnamed shroom...
The lawns in rich neighborhoods are a good place to start finding them. Well manicured lawns in residential areas, in the city lawns/parks.

this just saved me a buttload of trouble trying to ID a shroom. I'm sor tof new at shroomery, in case you were wondering. Uh...Is there any other information you can provide though? To make it easier to identify them, if you can, please? Any tips for a noob?

FUCKING quickreply, I meant this for GGreatOne
I remember years ago when I lived only 30-40 mins from you GG and you found pan casters, or your GF spotted them glistening in the sun one morning.
I noticed you said nickname... would you agree they are subbs? I'd say most definitely there is some subbs there, most likely all are and some are dried out more.
Those are just my thoughts on the matter.

They do look like subbs, maybe the cap is a little less flattened... But everything else indicated in the description suggests Panaeolus subbalteatus. Save for the dosage, which can be accounted for by VERY strong specimens, or slight placebo. Dunno though.

I'd 100% call them subbs if someone else put this as an ID request, that's for sure.
Also scientists with microscopes normally don't mean shit to me. I know I have more brains than 90% of the scientists who can stick out a 4 year cloning program(college's turn you into a yes man idea) to get a piece of paper that said they could.
But the incident I mentioned earlier(GG's GF finding them) I remember saying they had a glistening cap, and remember them looking differently(I think whiter caps and yellower stem,) I also remember you took pictures of them with a newspaper(99% sure of that) and don't see the pics up there.

Ahhh okay, good eye, was it Mr.Mushroom?
I do have a sheet full of subbs, that I can send if you have caster prints still GG, that way a side by side comparison could be performed with access to a microscope, but even if you have to send them out again, I'd send it with subbs right along side. Mine are prints from lawn grown subbs too.

Oh hell, I have sheets and sheets of subb prints as well. I do think it odd, that the people only comapred to Pan. castaneifolius, when subbs tend to be very wide spread and common.

Well back then we weren't finding subbs all day long during the spring and summer in lawns, hell in the beginning of this year if I said I planned on finding ounces upon ounces of subbs in lawns in upstate NY people would have laughed and ridiculed me all day long
But then again I'm not your average Joe, I found multiple active species in my first year hunting in this state

Reply to Pikashroom:
They're definately out there right now.
Today I found 6 in the grass at taco bell and 1 more in a lawn of a residential area.
2 of the 7 found today exhibited a light blue color at the base of the stems mycelium.
Sorry no pictures of that.
