Blue cakes?!?
    #638219 - 05/20/02 04:45 PM (22 years, 5 months ago)

it has been well over a week since two cakes where birthed and put in the terarium... there was a post a couple of days ago that avised to dunk the cake to help initiate pinning... so the two cakes where put back in clean jars (cleaned with 1/100 bleach solution then with antibac. soap) then water that was preavilously boiled and cooled to room temp was pored into the jar...one of the cakes showed blueing before being dunked (it was asumed that this was do to brusing when birthing the cake) but after pulling them back out it had almost doubled in size. it now covers the top of the cake and a good part of the side. is this bad and why? how long will it stay blue? should it just be cased due to the bluing??? thanks for the input
ps i really dont think it is the green nasty

Blueing is normal if the cake has been handled or if its dry. It should go away soon. If it doesn't it wont hurt anything anyway. Just put them in your terrarium and be patient.
