Humidification control

Heres the setup

10 gallon aquarium with a handmade lid with plastic sheeting and perlite

Its keeping it at 100% humidity at all times, now I read that once they start pinning that you dont want 100 all the time, 95 if optimal.

Do you think I could cut slits in the sheeting to allow a little to seep out maybe bringing down the humidity?

You need to fan or hook up a air bubbler. Or you can get rid of all that messy perlite and hook up a cool mist humidifier on a timer. That would take care of your fresh air exchanges too.

hey, im having the same problem with perlite. When they pin and you have to lower the humidity its kinda hard. I even have 2 small aquarium pumps that pump in dry are but the humidity is so overwhelming that its no g good....and belive me, cutting holes in the terrarium wont do much good...the link below is pretty good, this guy has the right idea and made a little too to get a nice humidity...just cut and past it into your adress bar..good luck, ill be trying it out too
