If all the animals youd ever eaten were stood in front of you (alive again, mind) in a field. Hundreds, thousands? All mooing, clucking and baaaing at you. Thats a shit load of animals. Thatd make me feel really strange, seeing an enourmous herd of cattle and realising that Id chomped through every one of them.

Not only that, but I'd be sure to cook them all correctly this time. No more of this "well-done" bull that's perpetrated by the restaurant industry.

Imagine seeing all those cows, chickens, sheep, turkeys and like 2 dogs and 3 cats... You'd wonder what Chinese takeout was responsible!

No shit - I'm not sure I'd want to see what I've eaten. I eat a lot of fast food, I'd probably see rats and horses and shit in there.

Yeah, it'd be interesting to see what I've eaten. The dogs, cats, rats, etc. wouldn't be the strangest thing in my field...it would be the dugong lying there that would be strange!!

I don't think there would be many. I've been vegetarian/vegan during several, years-long periods in my life, and I don't eat much meat even when I'm eating meat.
My herd would be puny.

Speaking purely from an energy standpoint, eating meat is far less efficient than eating plants.
The energy we consume comes from the sun, and each step between us and the original plant that absorbed it results in a signifcant loss of energy during transfer. So, the most efficient source of energy is the plant that absorbed the light, and each iteration between that and us wastes energy. I've still eaten quite a few cows in my lifetime, but that information always bothered me.
