Meijer PC 4.2qrt, worth it???
    #636978 - 05/19/02 08:33 PM (21 years, 4 months ago)

Hello, I should be getting my first syrnge tomorrow, and was planning on using the boiling tek, in order to steralize the jars. I was walking through meijer today and noticed a 4.2qrt pressure cooker, for around $25. I was wondering if this if worth it, and do how many 1/2 pint jars, one thinks it will do at a time. Please let me know your input.

Thank You
Squeeky

I think you will be able to do 3 maybe four 1/2 pint jars at one time. It depends on how it is designed, not all pressure cookers are created equally. But its worth is truly a matter of opinion. If it suits your needs, then it is worth it. But if you wish to davel into something a little bit larger, we have some available at very competitive prices. Don't waste your money on such a small pressure cooker. Buy something bigger, or it will take you all day to sterlize jars.

I have a Mirro Pressure Cooker I bought from Meijer.25$ not bad...it does the sterilizing great, fitting up to four jars without covering the pressure release valve. I think that if you have a couple extra hours to sterilize then this PC wil work just fine, and for 25$ you cant beat it. Good Luck!

If you want to do 4 or 5 half pint jars at a time it will be fine.

If you want to do more get a larger pressure cooker.

Goodwill stores and such have used pressure cookers pretty cheap.
