Question about lighting

I was thinking about growing some myco bags in my attic. I'm not sure yet, but if there is no outlet up there for a lamp of some sort, would a couple flashlights provide suffecient lighting?

No because it would cost a fortune in batteries. Hopefully you have some sort of vent in the roof that will let enough light in. I assume you need stealth so you cant really run an extension cord up there. How stealthy do you need to be. A small rubbermaid with a couple holes in it in the corner or in a closet with a light source would work and still be stealthy...

I have plenty of batteries and that is not of concern to me. My attic has no vents to the outside and I can't grow anywhere else besides in my attic.

Then I guess you have to use the flashlights then. I'd say give them at least 30 minutes of light a day. At a minimum. Ive never used flashlights as a light source so Im not exactly sure.

Why not just get a few of them small flourescent portable light jammies you use for camping that last awhile on batteries and hang them suckers abover your tanks...

sorry, this isnt about your lighting problem, but every attic ive ever been in has been way to hot to even think of growing in, especially with summer coming on.

I live in a new house and my attic keeps at a relatively stable temperature throughout the year. Dont ask me why but it just does.
