according to the little book of ketamine, special k is the first drug administered as the anesthetic. then two additional drugs are given which stop the rest of the body.
does anyone know if this is still a true practice of lethal injections?
i dont know if the book is outdated.
id be interested to find out exactly how much they give them through i.v. i wonder how far they really blast them them out of this dimension before they hault the machine that gives them a ride home, leaving them trapped in the afterlife/another dimension for eternity.

well, not quite sure if its true now.
i googled it and wikepidea said another drug was used as the anesthetic.
so maybe it was used at one point?
im not quite sure, im still looking it up.
anyone else ever hear of this?

Ketamine used to be used as an anesthetic on humans for awhile. I remember watching a documentary on anesthetics, and they had a little bit on the history of Ket being used on humans.
I still think it is used in some places of the world, just not very commonly, and its still used by Vets on animals.
One of the cases in which lead them to stop using it on animals, was one of a little buy who was put under with K for getting his tonsils out or something, when he 'came to' out of the k-hole, he thought he saw his dead grandmother in his room and proceeded to freak out for a few days after.
This page has a bit of info on the doses used for K as an anesthetic.
RXList has some more detailed info on it as a whole.
On an unrelated but funny note, a friend of mine who /rarely/ drinks, but does loads of K, ended up getting a bit drunk last night and commented "It feels like I'm on K" :P
