"This night wounds time," is, I believe the openig line. And I haven't read it in 20 years. Kid, Denny and Lanya is one of the greatest love stories ever. Orchids are weapons and there is a second moon named George

:yesnod:

"to wound the autumnal city."  is this opening line.

Like Finnegans Wake, begins in the middle of a sentence.

And the scorpions are intriguing as hell, though they haven't been that prominent.

Just finished Fahrenheit 451 (Bradbury) and Mort (Pratchett). And now, heh, I'm reading a tank girl comic collection.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland for the millionth time... Somehow it never gets old

Hocus Pocus -Vonnegut. So far not my favorite of his, but still a good read

and The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy by Tim Burton. I've been through this one more than once, but not for over a year so it's almost like new.

Hamlet- Shakespeare bored me

Tuesdays with Morrie- Not as horrible as I imagined, but still pretty bland.

Now to get back to In Cold Blood...

Was about to grab that off my shelf for a re-read but saw my TG collection. Maybe I'll nab the Vonnegut next. Or maybe Still Life With Woodpecker if I've unpacked that box of books yet.

Yeah I wound up by-passing that shelf entirely and I'm now reading DH Lawrence's The Lost Girl

Staggeringly good. I'm not yet deep into it but I'm getting the feeling it's going to be right up there with Gravity's Rainbow. I ran into a literature friend the other day and he was half into it and very excited. He wanted to tell me all kinds of stuff about it but stopped himself before I had to. He was struggling though. That's always a good sign.
