The Voting Thread

It looks like Alice in Wonderland, and Vineland are the two suggestions that have sparked the most interest. This will be the voting thread.
Pick one of those suggested here. Your post in this thread will be your vote. Please only post here once.
If you have a complaint about doing it this way, post it in another thread, please.

I also vote vineland and I'd like to tell you guys that there is a thread called Michael Pynchon's Vineland here in this forum that PGF started. It contains a brief synopsis.

I think the one I'd most like to read FIRST and discuss would be Vineland. Doesn't mean I don't think AiW wouldn't be good as a "next" choice. ~K~

Sir, so are we voting until Friday or so? Then we need to set a time to start the read.
And, I guess Thor needs to set something with amazon up so when we buy the book he can get some lucre.
This is so neat. I am excited and a little apprehensive at the same time. (-:
PGF is happy

The links to both of the books at Amazon are:
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass for $3.95 and Vineland for $10.50 .
From this last book there are only 3 left in stock in the moment...
If you want to buy any book at Amazon and support the Shroomery at the same time, all you have to do is to put /minmed-20 after the ISBN number of the book in the link, hit return, and then click on the Add to cart button.
For instance: the normal link to Alice would be http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0451527747
the link, if you want to support the Shroomery is: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0451527747/minmed-20/
This procedure works with EVERY book.

AIW is getting a lot of attention in a discussion thread already started. It seems like a popular choice. I'm up for either book. AIW is $3? That is always a bonus. If we read AIW now, is there a chance to read Vineland next or another time?
Either way, let us know sometime today which book to order. I have to work all night, but I can order from amazon in the AM.

Somehow i feel that Vineland would take most of us longer to read then Alice, so my suggestion is we read alice now and get started on reading Vineland, then when everyone is ready we can start on discussion vineland

Ok, I counted 7-3 in favor of Vineland.
Here's what I think we'll do. We will start discussion on it by the tentative date of June 20. This should give everyone ample time to find a copy of the book. Maybe if PGF would be kind enough to pick a good version so that we can try to get it.
In the meantime, I am gonna read Alice in Wonderland online an join in that discussion. Everyone is welcome to do the same.
The date is tentative. If you think it's too soon, say so.

Cool. Today is what? the 23rd of May? (that's what my comp says anyway).
That gives plenty of time.
I'll go back and find that link to amazon that anno posted. Might as well all buy them from there.

ok, I started a thread on where to buy the book. I can not find how to link it so that the shroomery gets some fundage.
Can someone tell me how to do that. Also, post when you ordered so we'll know how many members are participating.

By the way, the adding of /minmed-20 also works on the other Amazon sites, .co.uk and .de .. cheaper postage for Europeans..
