so i have 8 bins seen here each attached to a hose which the air passes through a hepa filter in a rubber maid box, there is a humidity box too both the air in and humidity outboxes have 8 inlets on each of the 8 boxes. the boxes also have 8 outlets attached to hoses which are attached to a vacuum box so the whole system is run on a vacuum and timers will be used to automate the system for a month. the plan is so have 1 inch perlite on bottome layer 1 inch verm on 2nd layer then layer of pasturized hey substrate then some already colonized hey substrate from a current project i have that is about to flush out, my question is at what humidity should i keep the substrate at with the ultra sonic and how often should i change out the air? also how many inches of hey to make in colonize in a month and then be ready to case? if anyone has any idea as the what humidity that substarte is at and how much i should layer etc. anything will help! also the open cover with plastic is a window for a hygrometer analaog and digital both were giving different readings but i dont know what the readinds should be? here are pics

That look just a bit over-complicated..
I thought the whole idea of monotubs was to provide a self contained micro climate that needed no automation.
If I didn't know better I'd think that was some sort of WMD.

Yeah man just cut holes, put polyfill and turn on a ceiling fan. Problem solved.

well it was space wise, and that stuff is mainly for the casing layer anyway, and do u really think a ceiling fan is enough air flow and humidity to do that ?

Always worked for me... If the air in your house is really dry from the winter then you may need to boost the humidity in the room with a humidifier. Just put a humidifier anyplace in the room to boost the ambient humidity.

The humidity will come from bulk substrate itself. And not opening the tubs. And yeah I don't see why a fan wouldn't be enough air.

Not to be negative but wouldn't it be easier to have just gone with a greenhouse setup? That looks... insanely complicated.

na that wouldnt work with where the room is situated and what not this way is the way that works in my head, just requires some abstract thinking heh. plus this way contam is reduced to a minimum i hope, and i dont know how or where to get one of those greenhouse chambers so i gotta work with what i can find
