Is there any way to influence a dream?
    #6343083 - 12/07/06 12:30 AM (17 years, 2 months ago)

I want to drift away tonight while focusing my thoughts on something in particular, and I want to end up dreaming about it and hopefully gaining some lucidity from it. This site: http://ld4all.com/guide.html tells you some of the lucid dreaming basics, but it doesn't really answer my question of, "Will my pre-sleep thoughts influence my dream, or will the dream just be about the day in general (since dreaming occurs late in sleep)?"

it actually can greatly influence what you dream about. If you say "I wil dream about blah blah blah" over and over until you sleep it will most likely happen. Just a matter of remembering it after that. To gain lucidity from it have yourself trained to realize your in a dream when it happens and tell yourself, "Im in a dream" at that point you will gain lucidity but remain calm or you just might wake up. This could take a from a day to a couple weeks

What a coincidence I did this very thing the past few nights. I went online getting a lot of visual images of things related to it and thought about it as I went to sleep and it worked great both times.BTW I wanted to trip inside a dream. Heres a related site for lucid dreams that might help http://www.ld4all.com/
