Casing layer in monotub

Is it necessary, or just worthwhile? Or either?

cubensis does not require a casing layer to fruit. using a casing layer generally encourages more pins, and provides extra moisture to your crop to support larger fruits so its always a good idea.

that being said, i'd consider it a necessity in a monotub (though few might argue...) a monotub is an enclosed self-humidifying environment, evaporation from your casing layer provides the humidity within the tub. an uncased substrate won't be able to humidify the tub so well and is likely to dry out on you.

for cubensis its never necessary but ALWAYS worthwile.

i tried lots of subs side to side with and without and ALWAYS got noticeably better yields with one.

strongly advised.

also for the tub, a lot of the humidity inside comes from the casing layer,
one more (very) good point to have one.

Yes yes yes. Last monotub grow I had didn't fruit at all when I attempted to fruit uncased.

I applied miracle grow MC to mine last night this time around.

anywhere arts & craft supplies are sold (its basically pillow stuffing)... even a wal mart or target type store would have it. comes in a bag big enough to last you years for a couple bucks.
