 Largest Yield You Have Ever Had!?

I was just wondering what is the largest yield you guys have gotten using one 1/2 pint of substrate and a casing mix? So far I have been unsuccessful so my record is 0 grams. =(

I'm not sure what kinda answers you are going to get here but what do you expect from 1 half pint of spawn,Not much if anything.I make up 30-40 QUARTS of rye at a time,thats how you get yield,they don't call it bulk for nothing,you want to shoot for bulk not BUNK

I am just curious to see how much on average it makes, I am not sure about growing in bulk yet, just want to know the kind of yield I would get. By the way what kind of yields do you get by using 30-40 quarts?

I am impressed. I know this is off subject but could you take 2 pf cakes of the same type of spore and mix them in the same casing?

Yes. Pf cakes make excellent spawn. You can also stack two on top of each other to make better use of your FC's vertical real estate. Again, one of Faht's pictures.

Not a clue. I never weigh mushrooms anyway. I just eat until I'm not hungry anymore. Maybe Faht will pop in to answer your questions.

I would suggest you keep the casing layer thin. I've case 1/2 pints before and when working with such a small ammount of sub, colonizing a casing layer can deplete the available resources and lower the yield.
If you're doing it for an experiment, give it a shot. If you're trying to salvage a grow, I would suggest spawning the cake to a quart or two of pasturized straw, and case that. Use a cheese grater on the cake and the spawn will go a long way.
