if you don't know what it is, give it a try. it's a comic series that has been compiled into 10 graphic novels. i don't even read comics, but this is some amazing stuff. seriously, tons of people i have introduced the series to have told me that it is some of the best literature they've ever read. its' actually a bit hard to get into at first, but read a few of the books and it'll suck you into another world.

i've read a few of the graphic novels; i like them a lot... he brings you into a very surreal and dreamlike world. but i guess that's why he calls the land the Dreaming. man, it's been a really long time since i've even looked at them! thanks for reminding me.
i also love dave mckean's artwork. he does the covers for the comics... digital art collages.. he's also done work for a few other graphic novels, some musicians - front line assembly and skinny puppy, to name two - and he did a tarot deck called The Vertigo Tarot, which is just beyond awesome. if you like his art, do a web search for it, i'm sure there are some sites that have pictures of the cards. i bought it when it came out for $50, and i've heard that now people are selling them for $200-300 on ebay..
i also read "neverwhere" which was really good - unfortunately my ex-girlfriend has it right now... it's about this poor sap, can't remember his name, who lives in london and leads a generally boring and unhappy life and one day he helps this girl named Door (always with the symbolic names!) and she introduces him to a twin world beneath london, very strange fantasy novel. eventually i'll get to his new one, American Gods... too many other books in line first, though..

That's pretty cool. I knew Dave KcKean had done the work on FLA. He also did a few of Fear Factory's covers like Demanufacture and Obsolete. Also Machine Head's Burn My Eyes. I have also come across his Vertigo Tarot deck before.
I read Stardust as well. Not bad. I would like to read more.

i love dave mckean's work! i bought the tarot deck when it first came out too, but my mom threw it away i didn't know it was going for so much on ebay. i don't have dustcovers, the compilation of his covers for sandman... but i do have the sandman trading card collection and that has the covers.
mystrys your avatar is kind of reminiscent of dave mckean's work as well... it's pretty cool
