Great advice. Just remember you're never completely safe. For example:

"They will not look in one of the paint cans in the garage, or in a board game box in the hall closet, or in a box full of old paperback books in the attic."

Might not be true in some situations.

I don't know what version of FireFox you're using, but on any build I remember...

Tools > Options > Privacy > Change Master Password

Sets a master password used to encrypt your stored password table. You have to enter it once per session, it's stored in RAM and used to decrypt saved passwords on-the-fly to populate password forms.

However, I have password manager disabled at the moment, because of bug #360493 which has some worrying possiblities.
