Dunking experiment

I have an idea...

I bought some Spawn Mate from Dr. Bluethumbs and I was thinking that instead of dunking cakes into plain water you dunk them into a prepared Spawn Mate/water solution? My theory is that the water will carry the nutrients (assuming they are all water soluble) from the spawn mante into the cakes rather than just the water itself. Any thoughts?

I plan on doing an experiment where I dunk one cake in plain water and another in solution and possibly taking pics and posting the results here

Has anyone tried anything like this?

Wouldn't hurt to try....may contaminate easier though.

i've done similar experiments with nutrient broth dunking.
it can work well, here's a few tips.
do the dunk under refridgeration, to minimize bacterial reproduction.
rinse the cake well.
now i'd recommend a 5-10 minute bleach water dip afterwards to sanitize .
you should remove the verm. layer before dunking and replace it after.
