Is light harmful?

I am colonizing 12 PF style jars of some Equadors and I was just wondering if it's counterproductive to the mycellium by exposing it to light everyday from checking the progress (under sterile conditions)?

It wont hurt anything...Just don't leave them exposed too long...

Cool. I thought maybe that was why they are a little sluggish colonizing but I guess not. Anyone else have problems with slow EQ colonization times?

No, mine colonized pretty quickly, less than 2 weeks. But out of every batch there are always jars slower than the rest even though conditions are the same for all of them.

Temperature might be a bigger reason for slow colonization.
