PR Slow colonization

I got some Puerto Ricans in some half pint jars and after about 5 days I started to see some white spots but after that they seemed to have frozen in time. Im basically using the shroom wizard tek with no holes poked in the lids. Im worried if there is no gas exchange with the tight sealed lids or what. I got a defunked soul food machine...maybe I should do something with that??? By the way dont get one of those although if you already have one I heard it makes a decent terrerium. Anyway it says it should take about three weeks and Im closing on week two. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks.

I had a similar problem with my EQs... I innoculated almost 3 weeks ago and only 6 of the jars are colonizing, and very slowly at that. I tried moving it to a warmer area and it made all the difference... I can see how much bigger the mycellium gets each day when before it looked like they were just dead. Try to get it as close to 84 F as possible. Also I would not keep the jars sealed (as long as you're sure they're kept under sterile conditions) and maybe even unscrew the lids a couple turns to increase gas exchange. hope this helps
