Propose that one had a lot of weed, and was consistently smoking it when one was home. One never had to worry about changing one's mood because one's mood was consistently "stoned". 
What if one realized after making a post that they did not effectively represent which mood they were in when they made the post, typically due to the fact that they simply weren't thinking of which mood they were displaying?
I tried changing my mood and then editing my post, but the mood was still stamped as the original one. Is it feasible to be capable to edit one's mood for one's post when one edits one's post?

I'm not certain. Do some research and discover what the ratio is of threads that have not been locked to threads that have been locked. Keep us informed.

Hey, I did you a favor and did your research for you. 
I went through and scanned every single page of P&S, back to the page at which my nomination thread rests. In the process, I tallied the amount of locked threads that occured. I went back twenty-six pages, which, at twenty threads a page, brings us to a rough estimate of 520 threads during the period that I have served as moderator. Of these 520 threads, seven of them have been locked. That is roughly one thread for every 75 threads created.
Given the general impression that one would gather from that information, yes, it is feasible to have lively discussion full of dissenting opinions in P&S without having the threads locked. Apparently there is a vast majority of posts and a vast majority of posters who are engaging in lively, open discussion in P&S.

And you feel that you are an accurate representation of this vast majority? You had a thread locked once and suddenly discussion is being repressed and a vast majority is not having its needs met? If I recall correctly, you copy and pasted a Wikipedia entry about Offtopic.com. The entry did not pertain to philosophy or spirituality in the slightest, and it certainly wasn't proposed in a manner that opened it up for some good ole' discussion. In fact, it wasn't even locked, but moved to OTD, and then to The Pub. I do believe the majority of people who posted in it during its journey acrossed our boards expressed that the thread sucked, as well (I could post the link, or perhaps just quote comments that users left). Maybe it should have been posted at Offtopic.com? 
If you wish to discuss the nature of my actions, then by all means, let's get to the bottom of this. I have no problem with being open, direct, and critical.
