will this technique work???

in a rubbermaid container, the kind with the blue lid and yellow clasps, i put a half inch of PC/sterilized vermiculite, for moisture, then a half inch of sterilized brf/verm substrate on top of that, i used the liquid water/malt extract to cultivate some mycellium, and then soaked the substrate with the mycellium liquid using a sterilized turkey baster, the boxes are in my closet at room temperature and have been fanning twice a day, it has been almost two weeks now and im seeing some growth i was planning on waiting till the brf/verm was colonized then casing with peat/verm

Your BRF will contaminate if exposed before it is completely colonized by the mycelium...Check out the FAQ:
