growing with vermitculite mix

hey, im new to this. i am having a hard time finding pure vermitculite but i have found a mix of peat moss, vermitculite and perlite. would this be ok to make cakes with, or should i try harder to get pure vermitculite. thanx.

check out Home Depot or Ace Hardware stores the have it.

You'll most likely run into contams that way.

Try to get the pure verm. Its weird, any store I go to with a gardening section has tons of it.

Don't make cakes with that stuff!!!

look around some more stores and you will find it.

If you can't find Verm.... there are other Teks.

Home Depot is carrying 4 square foot bags of Verm.

I have used a verm and peat mix to make cakes and as a dry layer in my jars (twice) and have not had a contam problem at all but i'm not sure about the perilite in it that could be bad(contam wise). good luck

ha ha ha. You shouldn't keep saying, "pure vermitculite" "i am having a hard time finding pure vermitculite" It makes it sound like a drug... Some middle schooler is going to read this now, buy a bag of the stuff and do rails of it.
