Has drug testing gone to far?
This isn't about big head Bonds or offensive linemen. Its about Chess. Yes Chess.
Chess's world governing body will introduce dope testing at the Asian Games this week, although the sport's top official in Doha said he had no idea how drugs could enhance chess performance. "I would not know which drug could possibly help a chess player to improve his game," competition manager Yousuf Ahmad Ali said.
So what's next ? Chemical analysis of your shuttlecock ?

Dope tests for Asiad chessmen planned
DOHA, NOV 30: Chess's world governing body will introduce dope testing at the Asian Games this week, although the sport's top official in Doha said he had no idea how drugs could enhance chess performance.
"I would not know which drug could possibly help a chess player to improve his game," competition manager Yousuf Ahmad Ali said, adding, "But, yes, there will be official monitors who may demand that players undergo a drugs test after the rounds."
Drug testing is the latest move by the World Chess Federation (FIDE) to raise international standards in the hope of making chess an Olympic sport in the future.
Along with triathlon, chess is making its debut at the Asian Games, where more than 60 players will compete for the medals.
Among them are ex-world champions Rustam Kasimdzhanov of Uzbekistan and Zhu Chen, a former Chinese international who has switched nationality to represent hosts Qatar.

Ya, this reminds me of schools that wanted to start testing students in all extra curricular activities (including, but not limited to chess club, political clubs, and drama).
The result? Students who would otherwise be hanging out at school(instead of who knows where) after school, were not hanging out who knows where and quitting their extra curricular activities.
Has drug testing gone too far? Yes.

What objects are you proposing to yourself? Are they the objects you really value? If they are not, you are cheating yourself. I don't meant that if you chose to pursue the objects you most value, you will attain them; of course not. Your experience will tell you that. But success in getting after much labor what you really don't care for is the bitterest and most ridiculous failure." -George Santayana
