Thats a really interesting question, one i am infact researching at uni (well body- image and beauty anyway)
Some "scientific analysis" has apparently narrowed an element of sexiness down to symmetry (that is in regards to peoples faces, and to a lesser extent bodies). But even then, two faces can be very symmetrical and one still considered more attractive than another. Im inclined to think that there is nothing intrinsic to "sexy", but rather it is something that is socially conditioned.
Some have argued that large breasts, hips, etc are seen as attractive by a male because on an instinctual level, they show who will reproduce and be best for the continuation of one's genes. However what of modern day models, or the current image of attractiveness? Starved, skin and bones? that certainly doesnt relate well to a good chance of reproductive sucess!
If one looks back to the renaissaince (sp?), and artworks of say Michaelangelo, we get the impression that the image of attractiveness was large, plump women and men. (totally opposite to current model). It apparently related to wealth, excess and luxury in that time.
Therefore, basically sexy comes down to what society instills in us as attractive. All around us, every day we are bombarded with how we "should" look, as if some external force has defined beauty and forced it upon us. It seems such a shame that people have to conform to a social norm in order to be attractive. Why couldnt individuality be considered beautiful? (I'd like peoples ideas on that!!!)
In the end, for me, "sexy" lies simply in the eye of the be-holder.

wow, here's a good example of how viusually biased humans are, nobody's even mentioned smell and touch. Or even sound. Some voices can be really sexy and other sounds too, like a car maybe.. And what's sexier than super soft skin??? And SMELL. I can think of way too many sexy smells...

i really think sexy is what WE make it, not completely just you. i think t.v. and times, have a big impact on the way you experience attraction. for instance, in the 1950's, people wore bobo-ass clothes, big hair, and scuttle-bugged. and back then, girls i dont see attractive, they did. in the 80s, it was girls that wore tight nylon or girls that had big ass hair. and now, it seems girls with big asses and jugs are what it is  thats because our era is more sexualy oreinted. i think society has a big big impact on whos excepted as pretty and who isnt. but of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and u can make it what you will. i look for a combo of good persona/pretty (but who doesnt if you get down to it?) once a dirty whore x-girlfriend told me "beauty will get you in the door, but it wont keep you there" and to me that was the smartest thing that dumb bitch said
