Snow!
    #6308816 - 11/28/06 07:49 PM (17 years, 4 months ago)

I walked out this morning and there was snow on the ground. I realize this probably isn't a big deal to most of you, but I've lived in California most of my life, and this is my first winter in a place that actually has real seasons. I realize it probably won't take long for the magic to wear off, but...wow! There's something about it that trips me out.

I just had a dream about snow last night. When I woke up, I actually checked outside because I wasn't sure if it was a dream or what.

We get lots of snow here, I've been through some wicked blizzards with multiple feet on the ground and snow up to my waist before. I like the way the scenery looks but it can be quite an inconvenience to deal with constantly as far as travel and getting around is concerned.

It's snowing like crazy here in the Denver Metro area. It took me 30 minutes to drive 1/2 mile and back because it was so slick. There was probably about 5-6 cars that got stuck on the smallest of inclines. Tomorrow morning will be a tough drive for sure. Who cares, I love Colorado!

Go Broncos!

Ya, fortunately Portland doesn't get a lot of snow. Just a couple inches.

This incoming cold front is going to fuck things up, that's for sure. Hopefully my region will actually get some snow for once.

winter in chicago is just right around the corner. snow is great for the first few days, but then 4 months of it just gets annoying. Want to see a real winter? come around this area where it'll be 5 degrees for most of janurary, februrary, and half of march and wear you absolutely need gloves and to wrap your face with a scarf + thermal underwear and a few layers of clothing and the largest and thickest coat just to walk down the street.

I could never live in another season-less area like california though. fuck that comfortable shit. bunch of pansies, if you ask me.

you can still ride in the winter if you have the right clothing & some fenders.

Northeast Pennsylvania has some ravaging winters too. Especcially where I live, in the Appalachian mountain range. Brutal winters, and there's usually 3-4 occasions where we lose power for at least a day or two. It gets crazy sometimes....I love it.

I can't wait for snow, and to be home in it.

I love mountains.

Well, Here in the little mountain town of Durango, I got 6 inches on my front porch, and it's supposed to pound tomorrow.  You Denver fucks are so lucky, being close to the Front Range.  I bet Breck, Vail, Copper etc. are rockin.  Last weekend I was up in Telluride and they only had 2 green runs open, :sherm: and Purgatory isn't even near opening.  Wish I had gotten a season pass to Wolf Creek instead of T-Ride.  This current storm, however, might change things a little.
