Generally speaking though, the tone of replies that come from members of the community directly relates to the tone of the original poster. If the original poster comes off as a 12yr old who saw "ZOmGOD!$, I can get fcked up from seeds I can buy at wallmart?! OMGWTFBBQ!" after stumbling across erowid then comes here asking how to get as fucked up as possible - and shows that he is either

a: immature
b: just wants to get as fucked up as possible
c: shows he put no extra effort/research into using the substance and simply wants information spoon-fed to him (which general means A & B also hold true)

and the community will not respond kindly to that, and to be frank - I tend to agree with that type of response. Prior to doing /any/ drug (I was a late starter and didn't touch drugs until I was in my 20s), I did LOADS of research and reading on them. Hell, I probably spent a year reading up on E before I took my 1st pill, a few years reading up on LSD before I did it, and same with mushrooms. I took the steps to educate myself on the substances that I was putting into my body - why cant other people do the same? It does not take that much time to pop over to Erowid, look up the drug you're curious about and read even some basic information.

If a person asks a question and just expecting information to be spoon-fed and shows that they put NO effort into educating themselves, I'll be less likely to pitch in and offer advice. But, if they show that they've put even some basic effort into finding out information on their own, I'll be more than happy to help.

Personally, I am not opposed to the recreational use of drugs. I know a few members on here share a different view than mine in this regard. However, it is the irresponsible use of drugs that bothers me - the kids who havn't put any effort into learning about them, and simply just want to get as 'fucked up as possible' as much as possible with anything possible. Those are the people who give drugs a bad name, those are the people who keep drugs illegal, and those are the people who will lower the quality of the community here, and quite frankly - if our 'snobbish' replies keep them away, then it's for the better.

But, it is possible to be educated, responsible and mature and use drugs in a recreational manner.
