the power company sent some guys up here to spray herbicide, in previous years
they sent people out to cut and trim trees to eliminate problems, the utility
gave no notice as to their intent, I never recieved a letter saying they planned to poison the soil on an organic farm...
what do you feel is just compensation considering that runoff is a big issue since
I have a pond and some of my irigation is fed by that pond, I sometimes eat fish
from the pond and my pond feeds the pond of one of my neighbors

well take it up with them and seek amends for what they did. of course, i dont see much of a problem except that they did not relay their intent. not alot of paople have organic gardens.(no offense, of course)

I would be pretty fucking pissed, definitely write/call your local ag ext. office and power company. There might be some city officials you could get in touch with as well.
You don't happen to need a farmhand do you? I have some (little) experience with gardening/farming, but I'm willing to learn anything if I could find someone willing to teach me.

contact the EPA man, even though you need to leave access for power companies to come and do maintenance work and such, that does not give them the right to do whatever the fuck they want your private property.
My friend owns a house, he had several old trees behind his fence on what was still his property. A real estate giant decided it would be a good idea to build houses for rent right behind his place. They also didn't like his trees so they decided to cut them down, without his consent. He woke up one morning to the sound of one of his trees falling. A few phone calls to our local government, his lawyer, and some environemental agencies led him to a 5,000$ check for irrepreable damages to HIS property.
If i were you id be doing the same thing. If that doesnt work plop a lawn chair out there, bring a few 12 guage shotguns, and sit there when they come back.

should it matter if it's an organic farm or not, people have the right to know
when someone is trespassing and spraying dangerous chemicals on their land,

so far I've done a great deal of the work in maintaining the right of ways on
this property, previously it was done with mechanical means by the power

spent a lot of time in lawrenceville never had a problem with anyone,granted this wasn't the more built up area.
I've only had limited time around in N.GA though,working on about 5 years now i believe.The 5-0 here are fucking terrible,i've been pulled over countless times for being too low,too loud,and any other bullshit you can attribute to old rusty cars,and I've been search a number of times during those incidents.
Love this area though,more so than the many places I've lived in TN.

More than likely the utility company has an easement that gives them the right to maintain the area. Organic farming is a concept that is way out front of the evolutionary curve, so don't expect a lot of legal sympathy.

Well, I'd probably be stark raving mad. Then I would come around to realizing that if I had better maintained the area- to which nobody would have objected- the utility company probably would not have resorted to chemical warfare. So, in essence, I would be pissed at my self.

yah i would be pissed. I would "try" to contact newspapers and make a big deal about how the power company or w/e doesn't give a shit about mother nature...not only is your feilds contaminated so is the shit they sprayed and anything that comes in contact with it.....
aka bugs birds wildlife....there's no way to tell how many things died and will get sick and die because of it....hell id try to sue them for causing bird flu....leading to human deaths....not really anyway they can prove it didn't....and how can they prove their inocent when they havn't spent a dime researching these chemicals......
oh and don't forget about wind....wind spread them chemicals everywhere dude.
think about pollen...basicly the same size as a fine mist...pollen travels a long fuckin way....or think spores....same thing.
id go for a class action lawsuit if you wanna fuck em....but if your worried more about yourself just sue.....class act is if you want shit to change thow.
but this is what i don't get...why does it matter if they had your permission or not....it should still be illegal to spray a fuckin toxic chemical that kills....people think they just spray somethin and all it does is what the fuckin back of the bottle says its for....kills plants. well it does alot more than that.
Lastly, one important thing for you to consider running organic....it sounds like your kinda close to the road, cars will pollute your land my friend, already has....but im sure you still fit the "organic" label but its not truely organic.
them cars put out alot of shit....watch the snow in the winter time its black as shit....you can;t eat grapes along roads because they are contaiminated.

except as mentiond at least twice, I do maintain the property including the area

except the area is maintained as is the remaining acreage and the utility
companies sent them out to canvas an entire area, not just my place, there was
no notice given in order for me to object to the herbicide sprays being used, in
the past they'd used mechanical means with which to deal with it and left the
tree trimmings just laying around
now that you mention it as warfare, I guess that's how I should start to view it

just to fuck with them you should plant a bunch of plants/trees that will piss em off. like thorn vines, poisen ivy, ect. expecially put that shit on them poles they like to climb
