No, it doesn't.  Chill out and ask *one* time please.

"CLEAR!!!" [Defibrillator]

Has the knowledge evolved through the experiences this many years later?
Any additional gems of information to simplify this?

I wonder about the wood...

Beech / Alder are pricey...
Perhaps Cypress wood chips mixed with alder/beech?

Then comes the thought - what about shavings, dust or compacted wood of any kind that doesn't have resin?

Is the wood ideal for hosting the mycelium for the length of time?

Could the length of time it takes for colonizing and fruiting (specific to your insight) have anything to do with the wood/substrate used?

Is the idea for it to be in general a wood that breaks down (quicker) when exposed to seasons and natural outdoor conditions?

Don't answer anything off-base - I'll get the point lol.

What my brain is attempting to ninja is how to do this cost efficiently.
Which just needs to be turned off sometimes.

I like this layers of straw idea below frost line...

I hear some say this would allow for many seasons of growth and then I hear that the bed will dry up quick and will have to be re-done the next season.
If simply digging down 12-18" and adding layers of straw could give life to it for many seasons - that seems like the only efficient way to go?

For Fun Question:

What is the likelihood of layering everything (with straw) / preparing it all just right - and simply "spraying it down" / covering it with a P. Az live culture more straw / wood chips / manure and covering it with cardboard and the original soil - being a success?

--------------------
Ease and Peace of Mind be the ideal which unfolds the path. I "seek" "Knowledge and Wisdom" to illuminate this path - Ultimately driven by curiosity derived from experience. Where this leads I have no idea - but I do recognize it's familiarity along the way. I dropped these seeds - now fruitfully growing here... long ago.

Despite the truth of this - I eat these metaphorical fruits and shit them out the same way you do. Life can be more fun when experiences are applied informatively and pro-actively.

Looking for some Like-Minded Peeps to learn and share with... all things Mycology.
This intention is like mycelium - Help us colonize!

Anyone ever try cvg in a mono for them after inoculating in grain spawn ? I mean coco coir is at the very least similar to a wood chip or sawdust...Mayne I'm just wishful thinking I got em as a freebie anyway so its not a big loss but would be a huge gain lol. I don't have the space nor means to do it outside the way I'm reading I'm supposed to but can't do the impossible lol and I could invest in the wood substrate but I'm how I'm going to bring em down to such a low temp unless I let the bag once 100% sit for a month or so and try em with a good wood sub. What a are your opinions? please any nothing helps I'm getting all different answers on these monsters lol.thanks I appreciate any info .

Azure require wood and cold temperature, coir is not wood.
