huh? casing provides a micro-climate to promote pin development...rye isn't a great substrate, but is good spawning material....

the straw is a substrate

the spawn, your colonized rye grain, will grow into your straw just like it grew into your rye

if you do everything right, you will have mycelium and a shit load of shrooms

you could fruit with rye + casing
or mixing pasteurized straw will do, be careful with contam tho!
