the other day i was checking out a spot on mnt. tam. i tryed to park my car on the side of the road but the wood chip pile sunk down and my car started slowly sinking down the side of the hill. i tryed for about 3 hours to get it out, eventuay had to get AAA to get my ass out. but heres the thing. my wheels digging down into the wood and the general havoc i caused dug up a crap load of mycelium. i felt like a bastard. i have no idea of knowing what would have been greowing there but still. i suck

ok, repect for your habitat is one thing, but you guys take this to a rediculous extreme. don't sweat it. sweep some loose chips over the ruts your tires made and let it be. fungi aren't human, they will survive. if you can start a large patch from a single colonized woodchip in 6 months, how long do you think a small injury to a large bed is going to take to recover? seriously

I agree with you completely.
It is something I avoid, but accidents happen, and in this case it can be repaired.
It's like accidently stepping on or kicking over a mushroom.

I've had spots like in the middle of the road in the center divider where Caltrans tore up and bulldozed the whole thing and paved over it.
but where did they take the chips?. So I asked the work crew, and they told me...Oh ok, i see now
although they thought I was a litte strange for asking that question
